Hello there family :D Apologizing upfront for the short email.
This week was beautiful! We had a couple miracles!
We met a man a couple days ago on the bridge, and he walked with us a ways but then we had to run to a meeting. He was very kind but not super interested in our gospel message. 2 days later he called us and wanted to meet. We set up that evening and had a wonderful meeting with him! He doesn't live here, and left today so unfortunately we won't be meeting with him still, but we gave him a pass along card and he called us! Pass along cards can produce miracles believe it or not :)
We also served at a hospice this week and made eggs with the elderly people there. They are very sweet. It was a beautiful opportunity to serve.
Highlight of the week - we went on a Vylet with a member and her friend. We went to cicmany and to slovenske bethlehem. I cannot being to write the thoughts and feelings of my heart. Slovakia is the most beautiful country. It was so fascinating for me to see just how much the catholic church is a part of the culture here. I respect the christianianity that has been preserved in this nation so much. As we drove through the countryside, there are crosses all along the road sides. Even in the middle of nowhere, in a forest, somebody somehwere wanted travelers and by-passers alike to remember Jesus Christ.
In that light, I was shocked. As missionaries, we are not just asking people to change their religion, we are asking them to change their entire culture, their way of thinking, their perspectives, and their traditions. Wow. What a task.
Not unlike the tasks of Paul among the corinthians or christ among the Jews. I know the Chruch of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the only true and living church on the earth today. That in this church, His church, the church of Jesus Christ, that all people can find a place. What a celebration it is to know Him and not only LIVE his gospel, but preach it.
I am sooo grateful for the chance I have to be a missionary.
Love you all! Have a great week - Sestra Kane
